My dog has sudden head bumps after a tumor popped. Allergic or tumors?

I would be concerned about an allergic reaction since they came so soon. I would give him a good bath to try to rinse trbarea then you can give an over the counter antihistamine to help untiknhe gets seen tomorrow

If these just arose out of nowhere I would be concerned they are hives and she is having an allergic reaction. Since they are on her face, I would consider this an emergency, so it would be recommended to take her in to the emergency clinic right away, where they can give her a shot of benadryl and a steroid shot to stop the reaction. In severe cases of allergic reactions the face can continue to swell and the swelling can extend to the airway, becoming life threatening, and we don't want that to happen!

Hello. This sounds like it might be an allergic reaction. This could result in swelling around the airways. If hives are present (raised, haired bumps about 1cm across), then I would suggest a visit to the vet for some medications. Good luck with your little one!

Hi and thanks for your post on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Oh dear, this sounds like Bella has hives indicating an allergic reactions to something she was exposed to. Please take her into a veterinarian right away for treatment. She will need antihistamines and a steroid. Whatever she was exposed to needs to be identified so she does not have a reaction like this again. Best of luck!

This is probably an allergic reaction due to an insect bite or a plant outside. those reactions tend to resolve within 48 hours without treatment. if the swelling becomes too large or if your dog is lethargic, take her to the vet in order to get an antihistamine injection.

Oh dear, poor Tomo! Both the bump on his nose and the red bumps around his mouth look most consistent with hives. Hives occur most commonly as a result of an allergic reaction. Unfortunately, we often are unable to determine the precise cause of these reactions, but they can occur due to insect bites or contact allergies with different grasses, leaves, chemicals, among many others. Most allergic reactions can be managed with antihistamines, such as Benadryl (here is some more information: https://www.petcoach.co/canigive/dog/benadryl/ ), but some more severe reactions also require corticosteroids, such as prednisone. I strongly recommend discussing medication options with Tomo's vet or even taking him in for an exam to assure that there are not other more serious issues present. This is probably due to an allergy, although it could also be infection or mites. First of all, in order to rule out skin parasites, you will need to treat with a high quality flea treatment (advocate or advantage), then ask the vet to perform a skin scrape - this might reveal an infection or a mite infestation. If all of those came back negative, the next step is to treat the allergy symptomatically and try to discover the cause of the allergy. Three main type of allergies are usually affecting pets: food allergies, flea and parasite related ones and environmental type (allergens coming from trees, pollens, dust etc etc). Some medications can be given by the vet in order to repair any possible skin lesions (like steroids and antibiotics).
