Is my Boxer's harness causing her hair loss or skin irritation?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | Female | spayed | 4 years and 3 months old | 50 lbs

I noticed this yesterday on my 4 year old Boxer. I was wondering if this could be because of her harness or something else.

Since the skin does not look inflamed or injured, it is quite possible that the hair was rubbed off by the harness. Monitor the area and if it starts to expand, ooze or turns red or painful, have a veterinarian examine it. You may also want to wrap the harness with some soft cloth or fur to hopefully stop rubbing.
