My French Bulldog has a hard, skin-tone bump on head. Is it serious?

I always recommend anytime a new mass shows up or an old one changes that you get it looked at by a Vet. It could be a lipoma (benign fatty mass), normal anatomy, a cyst or a cancerous growth. I don't think you need to rush Bella in but watch it closely for rapid changes and have her seen at your convenience. I hope this helps and I wish Bella the best!

These kind of problems happen to some puppies and they often go away once the puppy gets older. You could try and use antibiotic cream or ointment on the skin for 7-10 days - it will likely help. However, the skin problem may come back a few weeks later.

Hi Alicia! If this bump hasn't gone down, I'd suggest having it checked out by a vet. It could be something like a histiocytoma, which needs no treatment and typically goes away on its own in a few months, but it could be something else. Have a vet see Harley, and they can diagnose the cause of the lump and what treatment, if any, is needed.

Any suspicious lumps should be examined by the vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the lump to get a sample of its cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. Once the cause of the lump is diagnosed, the vet can discuss treatment options if needed. This bump needs to be checked and analysed as there are many conditions and types of tumors that could look like that. take Lucy Lou to the vet, they will perform a fine needle aspiration on the growth and send it to the lab for analysis. when the result comes, the vet will advise what needs to be done according to the diagnosis.

Such a small, solid and not painful skin lumps are often seen in puppies and young dogs. Stella may have a local skin infection, post-sting or bite reaction or allergy but it is impossible to know what it is without seeing and examining your dog. I would recommed you to take Stella to your vet for clinical examination and to make sure that the lump is not going to cause any problems to her.
