What dog food is best for my senior German Shepherd's joints?

Hello! I recommend feeding a diet that has been established for a long time and has undergone feeding trials and follows AAFCO nutrition standards. Purina, Royal Canin, Hill's, and Iams are all examples of good brands. I would avoid any raw, grain free, other "fad" diets as their lack of scientific evidence often leads to chronic nutritional deficiencies in senior pets that are fed these diets long term. Choose a good quality food with a named protein source. Avoid meat meals and by products. Stay away from store or discount brands. These typically contain low quality ingredients an dmore fillers. I use the large breed adult food from 9 months on. I like the dogs to grow a little slower to prevent bone problems. Soska will reach her full size but it will just take a little longer with less bone and joint issues. I recommend a large breed puppy food for your GSD puppy, and a medium breed puppy food for the 10 month old puppy. I can understand it may be a pain to have two separate foods, but large breed puppies have different nutritional needs due to their size. Commercial diet are balanced and offer all the nutrients Bruno needs. He is a large breed so continue to offer him puppy food until he is fully grown. If possible, do not mix honey or jam as an excess of sugar intake can be detrimental for his health. I would recommend diet formulated by Hill's or Royal Canin.
