Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | unspayed | 7 lbs
I put a Sergeant dual action collar on My chihuahua yesterday. Today her neck was red and was wining. I took the collar off and washed the dog very well. Could she have a allergic reaction to the collar or the chemical it is made out of. Is there anything else we can do?

Ouch, poor Belle! I'm glad that you took the collar off immediately. If you haven't already done so, bathe Belle as soon as possible with an oatmeal dog shampoo or gentle baby shampoo. The bath and removal of the irritation may be enough to stop her reaction. If the irritation continues, you should seek veterinary care for Belle, as she may need antihistamines or corticosteroids, or even antibiotics if she itches and causes a skin infection. Also call Bayer (the company that manufactures the Seresto collar) to report this reaction. Their contact information should be listed on the packaging. Once she's feeling a bit better, consider giving Nexgard, Bravecto or Advantix for flea and tick prevention. I hope that Belle is feeling better soon!
