The first step would be to place an e-collar (cone) on him to prevent further scratching or rubbing. The image shows a collar which is good. Use a warm washcloth to keep the eyes clear. They look inflamed, and possibly infected though. Ideally, he should be rechecked by your veterinarian. If he still has sutures from his neuter, when he returns for suture removal, have the vet check the eyes. He may need medication. There's nothing you can give him at home. This could be a skin infection or it could be a reaction to Roxie's bowls if they are plastic. Try switching her bowls to stainless steel to see if that helps. Hello. When you say you have no way to treat Tip Toe's skin, do you mean you are financially unable to take him to the vet? There are payment systems to help, such as CareCredit & ScratchPay. You can obtain a small loan from friends or family, or even sell something. Some communities do have outreach programs to help disadvantaged pet owners. In the meantime, it does look like your pet has some king of bacterial dermatitis going on. If you can afford to purchase a medicated shampoo at any pet retailer, I would like you to try & pick up one with either Benzoyl peroxide, or a combination of miconazole & chlorhexiderm. Bathe your pet twice a week for a minimum of 3 weeks leaving the lather on for 10 minutes before rinsing. In terms of treating her fleas, you can do that at home but you have to get medications from the vet's office. I can tell the treatment for fleas now. First, I would give her Capstar. It's a one time pill that starts killing fleas within 30 minutes. Then follow up with a spot on treatment, such as Advantage or Revolution. This is a treatment that has to be used once a month. You will also have to disinfect the environment. Wash her bedding in hot soapy water, and vacuum the furniture and carpet surfaces. Not sure how long the Seresto flea collar has been on but it could be some local irritation from the collar. Other possibilities include a bacterial skin infection, trauma from scratching, fungal infection, mites, an internal organ problem, among many other things. If the condition worsens, persists, spreads, or is really itchy I would advise letting your vet take a look at Macy. They can get a detailed history, do a thorough exam, and then advise some tests if needed. Skin tests include skin scrape, woods lamp exam, fungal culture, skin cytology, etc. If they felt like this problem was due to an internal organ problem, they may advise some tests which could include fecal/blood/urine tests and maybe even some x-rays. Your vet can decide whether the Seresto collar is involved or not. If it is, I would report this to Bayer Animal Health or have your vet report it. Good luck with Macy.
