My dog bit his back from fleas, green wound. Is it infected?

That sounds like the area is infected and the green stuff you are seeing is pus. This wound should be looked at by your vet so it can be clipped, the pus drained, the area cleaned and then Jake started on antibiotics. Until you can get to your vet, keeping the area clean and dry and placing an Elizabethan (cone) collar on Jake so he can't lick it is best, but it should be seen ASAP.

Is there any chance she could have been bitten by another pet? This can result in a similar wound. She will likely need oral antibiotics. Her veterinarian will assess the wound. If it is superficial, it can be managed with antibiotics and possibly a cleansing solution. Deep wounds sometimes need surgery. Do not allow her to scratch the area if at all possible. I recommend you get him checked by your vet - it is likely the damaged skin has become infected and very painful, hence the biting and snapping towards the area. It is likely he will need antibacterial and antifungal washes and possibly antiinflammatory medication to allow the skin to heal. An omega fatty acid supplement and rigorous flea prevention (including household flea spray to kill the eggs and larvae) are also recommended

In order to rid the flea problem you will have to treat the animals and the environment at the same time. When the weather cools the problem can get worse. You can get flea tablets to treat the animals with that will last a month or 3 months based on what type you get. As far as the scratching and sores go, there should not be a discharge between the toes. You can try to clean the area with soap and water, and use dawn dish soap or baby shampoo as this can kill the fleas. You can apply cortisone cream to the affected area or medicated powder to help dry out the area to provide some relief.

What you describe sounds like an abscess from a small wound. Your pet needs to be seen by a vet for an exam, wound care and drain placement if needed, as well as getting medication to help clear the infection.

This looks like an infected skin wound. It is possible that the wound was due to some sort of trauma or it could be because Noah was scratching. Either way, Noah will need oral antibiotics in order for this wound to heal. It is unlikely that any topical treatment alone will help.

Poor guy. This does not appear to be flea bites becsuse the area is too large and also is infected. This can however be self trauma which is secondary to a flea allergy. If you see flea dirt (small black specks on the haircoat) or if Tango isn't on a flea preventative, this is a good time to get him on one. I would recommend a good quality flea prevention such as Bravecto, Nexgard, Simparica or Vectra/Firstshield. Then I would recommend getting this skin infection treated through your vet. He needs prescription antibiotics to clear this up. Until you can get him in to be seen, you can try cleansing the area with Betadine diluted 50:50 with warm water and then just leaving it to dry. Don't cover the area as this can lead to further infection. Hydrogen peroxide should also not be used on wounds like this or it could actually lead to further destruction of healthy tissue.
