My dog has a fever, cough, and no appetite. What should I do?

It sounds like he needs immediate care if he is not eating, he is lethargic and may have a fever. This sounds like a serious condition that needs to be addressed sooner rather than later. The coughing and sneezing, especially if accompanied by nasal discharge can be caused by an upper respiratory infection or even pneumonia. These conditions require a veterinary exam and potentially bloodwork and x-rays to diagnose and treat. I recommend having Trigo seen by a vet as soon as possible. He should be seen immediately if he is unresponsive or you believe he is having trouble breathing. I hope all is well!

However, the antibiotics you bought may not be helpful if they are not targeting the right infection, or if this is unrelated to infection altogether, e.g. if his symptoms are due to toxin ingestion, or pancreatitis, or another source of pain or inflammation in his body. It would be best if he was assessed by a veterinarian as soon as possible, who would be able to pinpoint the cause of his illness, and prescribe the appropriate medication. Based on the symptoms you have outlined, I would guess that Chai most likely has some sort of infection somewhere within the body. Given that there is some vomiting, a reasonable assumption would be somewhere within the digestive tract, liver, or pancreas. Only blood work would provide us with enough information to at least point us in one direction or another. Chai is going to require some medications to address the vomiting and fever, as well as some fluids most likely to correct any dehydration that is taking place. If there is an infection somewhere within the body, at least one antimicrobial drug will be required to clear things up. I don't know about the Philippines, but in USA most of the drugs that will be required to help Chai are prescription only, meaning you will have to find a veterinarian to help you. Some other possibilities other than an infection would include organ failure, an endocrine condition called Addison's disease, and even cancer. I am sorry to hear he is not feeling well. I would highly encourage you to have a follow up appointment with your veterinarian as soon as possible. Young puppies need nutrition and will Parrish quickly without it. Viral infections such as parvovirus can cause fever and inappetance as well as many other possibilities. I am worried about a respiratory infection / possible pneumonia. This needs to be addressed sooner rather than later so that antibiotic therapy can begin right away. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Bon Chon! Have you taken his temperature rectally or does he just feel warm? Anything over 103 F is a fever rectally in a dog. Since he isn't holding water and food down now he needs to see a Veterinarian. He is too young and will dehydrate quickly. Causes of vomiting in puppies are: intestinal parasites, viral (especially parvo virus if not vaccinated) and bacterial infections, ate something gross outside, ate something causing a blockage, food allergy/intolerance, reaction to a new food/treat or people food. I would have Bon Chon seen as soon as you can. I wish you the best!
