Why does my dog have cigarette burn-like marks on his face?

It is difficult to know without seeing the lesions but he could have a bacterial skin infection, allergic dermatitis, trauma, etc. You could bathe him with a medicated shampoo and see if that helps. Otherwise, he should be examined by a vet to determine the cause and treat. He may need an antibioic, anti-histamine, and/or a corticosteroid to treat.

These look to be burns but it could also be an autoimmune disease, fungal disease, cancer, bacterial infection, etc. There is no way for us to diagnose him over the internet just based on some photos. Obviously the home treatment is not working so it is best to have him evaluated by a veterinarian. This needs some testing and some more intensive treatment.

Poor Rex! The lesion on his muzzle is unusual and could be due to an insect or spider bite, a burn, an abrasion, or self trauma. Be sure to prevent Rex from scratching or rubbing at this lesion by putting an e-collar on him, if needed. If this lesion persists or worsens, he should be examined by a vet. That looks like a skin lesion to me, which could be from a tick bite. It could also be a ringworm lesion. Without seeing Dozer in person, I can't say for certain what is causing this mark. Sometimes these lesions can occur from rubbing the muzzle on cages doors, carpets...etc. Sometimes they can also be from infection and less commonly from an autoimmune disease. I would recommend to have him examined by his veterinarian who will likely prescribe medication orally. Treating this area topically can be difficult as most dogs will lick off any medication you apply to the area so oral medications are generally best. You should also protect the area from further rubbing with an elizabethan collar which should be worn at all times. You can try gently washing the ears with an antibacterial hand soap (rinse well) once daily if he tolerate it.
