My dog's eyes are glazed and swollen from allergy. Is she blind?

I'm so sorry to hear that you are having this problem with Poppy. If your vet numbed the eye and examined it, then the numbing solution may be wearing off which may account for her eye being more irritated now. I have never had a dog have a problem with the fluorescein stain, so I think that is unlikely to be the problem. Dogs can have problems with some medications, so if your vet gave any of the antibiotic medication while in the office, I would contact them before giving more, but if they have not given her any in the office, then they should not be a problem to start at home. Either way, I would recommend contacting your vet, so they know what is going on with Poppy. There are some pain medications that can be given, so they may recommend adding those for Poppy. This looks like a swelling of Poppy's conjunctiva as opposed to the eye itself. It could be due to an allergic reaction or infection such as conjunctivitis. She will need eye drops and antinflammatories to settle this down so go to your vet as soon as you can. In the mean time pressing a cooled tea bag on the outside of the eye can provide some relief.

It looks to me like Hope is likely having an allergic reactions. Try giving her an over the counter antihistamine for the next 3 days. You can apply a cool compress to the eyes as well which will give some relief. If the swelling is not going down within 24 hours, take her to the vet for a steroid injection. Most of the time you will never know why this happened, its assumed a spider bite but you can't say for sure. Please post again with any further questions.

Oh no, that's not good at all! Her eyes are extremely swollen and unfortunately without seeing her in person, I can't say what is causing it. Any eye problem is an emergency because leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. I would take her into a vet immediately to get this diagnosed and treated. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. I’m so sorry to hear about Poppy! Red, runny eyes and licking at anus make me think allergies (which can developer at any age). The enlarged lymph node in the leg could be many things: normal, a reaction to a cut in the foot, cancer, or other. Same for the low white cell count. Depending on how low it is, it could be normal for Poppy, or indicate an infection or inflammation. As a side note, be sure she is licking at the anus and not the Vulva. If licking at the vulva I am concerned for: being in heat, UTI, uterine infection (pyometra) or other. Overall, my rule of thumb is “attitude and appetite”. If Poppy is happy, playful, eating, drinking and using the bathroom well, then there is no need to panic immediately, though I would still take her in if not improving in 48 hours. If she is lethargic, not eating, or having any other signs, it’s time to get to the vet more immediately. Hope this helps and best of luck to you and Poppy!

Should the eye ointment not make a difference in his loss of vision, I suggest you take Izzy back to the vet for a recheck. there are quite a few causes of blindness possible. Ask your vet about testing for tick diseases. we do sometimes see dogs with an ehrlichia canis infection that temporarily go blind. It also may be that she was slowly going blind over the past few years and now finally is totally blind and you just did not notice it before. THis is difficult, but dogs are great. They can get used to being blind easily, and have a few more senses with which they can "see".
