Why isn't my Doberman's eye problem improving after vet care?

I really cannot tell you for sure what is wrong with the eyes just by looking at a photo. She needs an exam by a vet so they can look at the eyes with the ophthalmoscope. I suspect conjunctivitis and you can try this eye antibiotic to see if it helps. If you start it and if after 4-5 days there is no improvement then she needs to see a vet. Put in in both eyes 2-3 times per day., a 1/4" strip. If you are not sure how to medicate the eyes you can watch some YouTube videos on how to do it. If you are talking about the pink triangle tissue in the middle corners, this is her 3rd eyelid. They aren't suppose to be showing but will sometimes come up when the eyes are irritated or their is an allergic reaction. I would start giving her benadryl twice a day. I would also have her eyes recheck if it isn't starting to improve. I can't tell for sure in the 2nd picture but it does look like the pupils may be different sizes. Thank you for submitting your question regarding Bentley. It is difficult to tell from the picture as I cannot clearly see his pupil. He could have a condition known as Horner's syndrome though. The affected eye will have a constricted pupil, droopy eyelid, an elevated third eyelid and the eye will appear sunken. If this is the case, it is a neurologic condition and it will not respond to the medication provided. In most cases there is no underlying cause and it will spontaneously resolve in several weeks. However, it would be wise to have his veterinarian confirm this is the case and that no further treatment is necessary. I hope this information helps!

This could be due to an eye injury or conditions such as a corneal laceration, corneal ulcer, conjunctivitis, dry eye (also known as KCS), among many other conditions. Since Toby has not improved on his medications, I highly recommend that you have Toby reevaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They can attempt a different course of therapy or possibly refer you to an eye specialist. Further therapy would be based on the findings. Good luck and best wishes!

You can continue with the Tobrex but if no improvement after 5-7 days he should see a vet. I suspect he may have entropion but I cannot tell for by looking at photos. This is likely to be due to a corneal ulceration, possibly due the enrolling of the lower eyelid and its rubbing against the eye surface. The blue discoloration is due to the presence of inflammation in the anterior chamber of the eye. The other signs seems to be related to the ulcer. I would recommend another check up to determine the underlying cause of it more specifically and give appropriate treatment. Serum and antibiotic eye drops will be needed.

A check up would be needed as appropriate treatment would include antibiotics and anti-inflammatory eye drops. Corneal injuries must be ruled out as well.
