Please take her in right away to have the eye checked. If the claw punctured her cornea it can become infected and without proper treatment she could lose sight in that eye. But foreign bodies often migrate or move in the tissues they are in. The same way a splinter can work it's way out or go deeper depending on it's size and how much motion and inflammation may be in the affected area. Because the eye is such as delicate organ, many times intervening can cause more damage, such as trying to remove an ocular foreign body. So it may have worked it's way out and her body was able to seal over the defect with scar tissue since it occured gradually. I hope this helped to answer your question. Based on your description, it sounds like Spector may have sustained some trauma to the eye. I would be concerned that something has become lodged in the cornea of the eye itself and that is why she is scratching at her face in an attempt to get it out. I would have a vet take a look at this before it becomes more of a concern. If there is trauma to the eye it could certainly lead to blindness.
