My dog eats poop, vomits, has diarrhea, and pees inside. What's wrong?

If Jewel is urinating in the house I would recommend bringing her into a veterinarian and have them check a urine sample on her. She may have a urinary tract infection. If she is defecating in the house and it is normal this can be behavioral and I would consider checking a stool sample and crating her until she goes outside again. If it is diarrhea then I would recommend checking a stool sample, putting her on a bland diet of boiled chicken and white rice and if it doesn't resolve discussed probiotics and medication with your veterinarian. I would recommend to rule out something like an infection in Presley's bladder before you give up on her. Since she can't talk, you don't know the reasoning behind this behavior. The veterinarian will look at her urine sample to see if there are any abnormalities which may cause this behavior. Go from there. If it does look to be more behavioral, speak with a trainer, read some books about housebreaking difficult dogs. Most dogs can be properly housebroken but not all learn in the same fashion. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It is possible that she could have a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) but that wouldn't explain the stool. I think she isn't house trained. I would block her access to the room she is going in and all other rooms. She should be leash walked every 1-2 hours so you know she is actually going outside. When she goes give her treats, verbal praise and play with her outside for 10 mins. If she doesn't go she should be crated if you can not keep her leashed to you. Then try again. She has to be either crated or leashed to an adult at all times until there are no accidents for 3 months. This includes when you are gone and asleep. All rooms need to be closed and/or gated off. No negative punishment for accidents. All areas that have been soiled need to be cleaned with an enzymatic pet cleaner like Nature's Miracle. You can also teach her during these 3 months how to ring a bell to indicate she has to go out. Teaching an adult dog to not eliminate in the house is much harder than a puppy especially with out knowing her full back ground. i wish you the best

Poor Bella! Parvo is very uncommon in adult dogs, but it's possible that this could be the problem if she was not fully vaccinated as a puppy. It's also possible that she could have some other serious GI illness such as pancreatitis, a systemic illness like liver or kidney disease, or she may have ingested something toxic. If this has been going on for more than 24 hours, or if she is acting weak or lethargic, I would recommend taking Bella to an emergency vet today for an exam - he/she can do blood work and x-rays if needed to help determine the problem and get her started on appropriate treatment.

With sudden accidents, it is always best to schedule a vet checkup first to rule out any underlying issues such as infection, GI upset, neurological or muscular issues, etc. if she checks out healthy, it may be that something has startled or upset her, especially if this was the same time last year that she had accidents last, causing her to have accidents inside instead of going out. You may need to temporarily revert to a "puppy" style of potty training again, just to get her back into the routine of going outside until she is more comfortable with whatever caused the accidents to start. Using enzymatic cleaners on any accidents can help discourage her from going there again, and making sure to offer some exciting treats and praise when she does go outside may help speed up the process.

This does sound odd, but I'm not sure that anything is medically wrong. Sometimes dogs with neurologic disease such as seizure disorders, or those who have ingested neurologic toxins will urinate and defecate, but they are typically also disoriented. Urinary and fecal incontinence can occur, and diarrhea or a urinary tract infection could cause a dog to have an accident in the house, but if this were a problem I would expect the behavior to continue. I would recommend keeping an eye on Kova and seeing your veterinarian if her urination and defecation continues to seem abnormal.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having this problem! I see that Nala is very young, only about 9-10 months old. She's still a baby, so it's expected that she will still have housetraining accidents from time to time. If she hasn't been examined by a vet recently, this is the first thing I would recommend as she may have an underlying medical issue of some kind that is causing her to "go" in unusual places. If your vet feels that she is healthy, then I would recommend blocking her access to the furniture for the next couple of weeks. This may mean confining her to an x-pen (short for exercise pen - these can be purchased at many pet stores or ordered online) or to a single room such as a kitchen or bathroom with her pee pads whenever you are not closely supervising her. This should help to encourage her to use the pee pads when she needs to poop, since she will not have any other options. Once she has been using the pads with no accidents for at least two weeks, you can gradually start to give her more freedom in the house again.
