Is watermelon safe for my dog to eat, and should I remove the seeds?

Whether an animal or person, the sensitivity to certain foods is not the same but varies among individuals. There isn't a toxic dose of watermelon. Watermelon rind is not toxic, but it is not especially digestible and could cause gastrointestinal upset. I don't think you need to do anything specific other than monitor for vomiting, diarrhea or decreased appetite.

I typically do not recommend giving dogs straight milk, and lower sugar ice creams can have artificial sugars (such as xylitol) which are toxic to dogs. Regular ice cream or cheese can be fine in small amounts but it based on each individual animal. If you want to give your dog anything dairy as a small treat, only start with one thing in very small amounts to see how Brody tolerates it and ensure he doesn't develop any vomiting/diarrhea.

Dogs don't need apples as part of their daily diet, but they are a relatively healthy treat as long as you make sure to remove the seeds. So you can give him a piece of apple every day if you want to - I would not expect this to cause any problems.

Yes, ice can be a perfect treat for your puppy. It can keep her entertained, cool her off, and act as a treat without adding any extra calories to her diet. Just be sure to monitor her while she is chewing on the cubes to make sure she doesn't choke. If she does swallow one too quickly or begin to choke don't panic, remember it's only ice and will most likely melt before causing an issue! Hello and thank you for reaching out to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Pumpkin seeds are safe for dogs, in moderation. I wouldn't allow Luckey to eat more than a handful at a time. They contain a lot of fiber and can cause constipation in large quantities. I hope this is helpful!
