Can dogs eat Thanksgiving stuffing and dressing? Is it safe?

Yes, Turkey is generally well tolerated and tasty for dogs. As long as he doesn't eat too much (like more than his normal serve of kibble), or is known to have an intolerance to Turkey, then he should be fine. I hope that helps and have a good Thanksgiving!

It depends on how much onion was in it and how much of the stuffing Marty ate. It only takes 100 grams of onion (about the size of a medium onion) per 20 kilograms of a dog's weight to cause toxic effects. If there wasn’t a lot of onion in it and he didn’t eat a lot, he should be ok.

I am sorry that Shelby has eaten your slice of pie, but I would not be overly concerned. I have looked up the ingredients in Costco’s pumpkin pie recipe and there does not seem to be any toxic ingredients. Nutmeg can be toxic for dogs, but it does not appear to be in their recipe. Because it is only one small slice Shelby should be fine, however, pie has a large amount of sugar and fat in it and this may cause some gastrointestinal upset. to help prevent this I would advise the following; Rest her stomach for 6 hours by withholding a meal Then provide a bland diet of boiled chicken breast skinless and steamed white rice. If you notice and vomiting, diarrhoea or discomfort she may have developed pancreatitis which is a common condition when dogs ingest a large amount of fatty food. This is unlikely however, if you suspect it please post a further question here on the forum or take her to see her veterinarian. If it was just a very small amount, he will likely be OK. The biggest concern when a dog eats something he shouldn't is a foreign body obstruction, meaning the item causes a blockage of his intestines. This would be a surgical emergency. If Rocky continues to act normally - normal attitude, normal eating/drinking/urinating/defecating, and is not vomiting, he will likely be OK. My concern about them is the amount of salt, garlic, and onion powder in them, all of which are toxic to dogs if enough if present. Given that he ate it within the last hour, the best thing to do is take him into the vet now to induce vomiting. This will prevent any problems from happening. Otherwise, you can monitor him and give him a little bit of canned pumpkin (one tablespoon) to see if that helps calm his stomach. Hello. There is nothing toxic in pecans that would harm a dog. At most, she may have an upset stomach for a day or so & may vomit or have diarrhea. If she feels like eating, you might want to feed her lightly with small meals ( about 1-2 tablespoons at a time ) of cooked ground turkey mixed with plain boiled white rice or low fat cottage cheese.
