Can dogs eat string cheese? Is it a good and safe treat for them?

I think you might be asking if it is okay to feed your puppy cheese. While cheese is safe for dogs to eat, it is relatively high in fat and I wouldn't recommend feeding much. With any treats it is important to make sure they don't make up more than 10% of the diet for proper nutrition.

Cheese is not healthy for dogs, can cause loose stool, provides no nutritional value and also can make your pet overweight. I would not recommend giving cheese to your pet. Instead you can give your pet dog treats or puppy cheese (safe for pets and has less chance of causing loose stool) in a kong toy to keep him occupied. A small amount of grated cheese may be ok but some animals have digestive issues when eating diary products. If your dog doesnt seem to have a problem with it than a small amount should be ok.

I wouldn't recommend giving cheese as it is high in fat and not needed in your pets diet. It's also likely to cause diarrhea. Instead it's best to stick with dog approved treats. Some foods like apples, bananas and green beans are also ok and provide more nutritional value than cheese.

I typically do not recommend giving dogs straight milk, and lower sugar ice creams can have artificial sugars (such as xylitol) which are toxic to dogs. Regular ice cream or cheese can be fine in small amounts but it based on each individual animal. If you want to give your dog anything dairy as a small treat, only start with one thing in very small amounts to see how Brody tolerates it and ensure he doesn't develop any vomiting/diarrhea.

I don't consider cheese to be a bad reward in very small quantities. That entire piece of cheese is likely to be ALL the calories Draco needs for a full day. So if you are going to give any high value treat, do so in teeny tiny pieces. If you can find a kibble he really likes, I recommend giving their kibble as treats. You can feed a meal as treats through the day instead of giving it all at once. Or you can set aside 1/2 of his breakfast and give that as treats. In a dog this small you will need to be very cautious with over doing the calories in the form of treats! The metabolism of every dog is a little different, but as a rough guideline a dog Draco's size needs about 160 calories a day. So it doesn't take much to give too many calories and cause weight gain.

Yes, that's fine. Most dogs tolerate beef well. If she vomits after eating it, or diarrhea is noted within three days, then she may not tolerate it well. This can happen either due to it being too rich, or a food allergy (not that common). This does have a fair amount of calories though, so I always reccomend you account for these types of treats by feeding a little less of their dog food. This will help prevent obesity, which is a common problem with dogs in the U.S. I hope that helps.
