Is it safe for my dog to eat a little kitty grass and dried catnip?

Grass is good for cats. It helps break down their food and therefore helps cats that vomit frequently due to a sensitive stomach or IBD (inflammatory bowel disease). However if Luna doesn't like to eat the grass, then unfortunately there aren't many options to get her to like it. As an alternative you can offer her an easily digestible diet once she is an adult cat (over the age of 1). I would recommend some good high quality brands such as Royal Canin Gastrointestinal high fiber, Limited ingredient Natural Balance or even Wellness no grain, if she develops any kind of stomach issues in the future.

Hello. In general, once the spray has dried, it should be safe to let your pet back into the garden. I would, however, try to limit any ingestion of the treated grasses. This plant will cause mild to severe GI signs (vomiting, diarrhea, decreased appetite), the toxicity is considered mild. if Knight is experiencing severe vomiting and lethargy you should take her to the vet to get treated.

Many cats and dogs eat grass or plants. Some do it from boredom, some like the taste. It does not necessarily mean they don't feel well. Some plant leaves can be toxic to cats so make sure if you have indoor plants they are out of his reach. Some dogs like to eat grass! As long as they have good appetites (for dog food!) and are not frequent vomiters, there is nothing wrong with eating grass. I do recommend that Chopi is routinely dewormed for common intestinal parasites (often included in monthly heartworm preventatives) and that you do not treat your grass with any chemicals.

Catnip is a plant in the mint family that for unknown reasons makes cats go nuts. There is an aromatic compound that is present that seems to affect their brains and cause a pleasurable response. It is completely safe. It all cats react to it.

Catnip is not toxic to dogs but it generally causes sedation. I don't recommend however to give it intentionally to Shadow since there are not studies about how much might be too much and he is a little dog. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
