Why won't my kitten eat Petco cat grass? Is it good for her?

You can give a kitten cat grass at any age. Especially since they are not fully domesticated animals and would have access to grass normally if they were allowed to be in their natural habitat (outside). Cat grass provides mostly digestive benefits, in that the roughage helps them digest their food better. So it is mostly helpful for cats that have digestive issues, but is still beneficial for cats that are completely healthy.

Some cats may eat grass to settle an upset stomach or to self induce vomiting. Cats will also eat grass due to boredom or simply because it tastes good. As long as Kitty is behaving normally, there is likely no cause for concern.

It sounds as Tiny is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an antibiotic course and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.

Since Sandy is a senior cat the most common reason for a change in chewing or preference from dry to wet food is oral or teeth pain, underlying metabolic diseases (kidney or liver disease, intestinal disease) or nausea which is why she may have been eating the grass in the first place. I would have her seen this week by your Vet for an exam/check teeth and weight and senior blood work. Hopefully it is just her teeth and if her blood work is normal then schedule a dental procedure. It's possible that Lola may be having a bid of stomach discomfort. You might consider switching her to a diet formulated for sensitive stomach along with the addition of a multivitamin/probiotic supplement. While the grass itself may not hurt Lola, you'll want to be sure to consider any pest or week control that's been sprayed on the soil for the last year or so as well as any parasites that may be living in the soil.

It is normal for cats and dogs to chew plants occasionally but If this is new for Honey and started suddenly, it could indicate nausea. Watch for other signs including loss of appetite, vomiting, or weight loss. If you see any of these, head to your vet as soon as possible.
