My dog has a dry spot in his armpit. Is this normal or vet worthy?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Hi! My dog has a very dry spot in his armpit. This spot is about 1cm x 2cm big, so not that big. I was wondering if it's normal for dogs to get dry patches or should I be worried and take him to the vet?

Dogs can get dry patches on their skin from infections, allergic dermatitis, etc. You could bathe him with a moisturizing shampoo, like HyLyt, and see if that helps. If not, he should be examined by a vet to determine the cause and prescribe medications to treat.
