My dog drank herbal disinfectant. Is it poisonous? What should I do?

If you need to take Branch to an emergency vet Poison control will help the veterinarians there formulate a treatment. Not so good. I would recommend that you call ASPCA's poison control number. That number is 888-426-4435. There is a $65 charge, but they will be able to best advise you. Oh dear! This is definitely concerning, since Merthiolate is a mercury-based compound that can be quite toxic if ingested - mercury poisoning can be a serious issue in dogs, just like humans. This is an unusual thing for a dog to ingest, so I don't have any direct experience with it and have not been able to find much information about how much would be toxic or what to expect, so I would recommend calling the ASPCA poison control hotline for more specific advice: 888-426-4435.

Hello, it really depends on what poison or toxin your cat got into. There are specific therapies for these. If it is recent ingestion of a toxin or poison, you may have your veterinarian induce vomiting to prevent the side effects of this toxin. I would recommend finding immediate emergency care for your cat and informing them what specific poison or ingestion of toxin you think your cat got into so that they can better help you. Thank you for posting more information on the essential oil blend! From what I can find, it appears that the essential oil in that blend does not contain any toxic oils for dogs. The fact that the cap was still on the bottle makes it more likely Rosie didn't ingest any of the oil. Hopefully she should be just fine, but if you do notice vomiting, anorexia, nervousness, lethargy, tremors, or any other strange symptoms, have her seen by a vet right away. In the future, make sure that Rosie has no access to any essential oils at all to be safe.
