Distemper in my litter. Can I give 5-in-1 vaccines to other pups?

  Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Possible side effects after vaccines include pain at the injection site, lethargy, diarrhea, inappetence and general discomfort. This should subside within 1-2 days. If it does not improve or it worsens, have Luns evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Otherwise, Luns will likely start feeling better shortly. I do recommend going for the booster vaccine. Good luck and best wishes!

  I would most certainly observe them first before giving a potentially sick pet a vaccine, which will challenge their immune system almost immediately.
  I sure hope your puppies are ok and do not have distemper, because there is no real reliable cure for that. Also I am not sure what serum test was performed exactly, so more specifics are needed in that regard. A distemper test has to be ran at an outside lab and takes several days for results.
  
  Some possibilities here are that they both have distemper or are both having an abnormal reaction to the vaccine.
  
  If your adult dogs are acting normal, then I would not concern yourself about them at the moment. Your focus should be on the puppies, since they are the only ones that are symptomatic.

  Hello, so sorry this happened. It sounds like distemper to me. At 10 weeks of age they likely only had one or two vaccinations. hat is not considered "all their shots". They are not fully vaccinated until they are 16 weeks old. In the meantime they are still susceptible to diseases like distemper.
  
  Unfortunately, there is no good testing for distemper. You usually diagnose by clinical signs. There are some tests that can be done but they are costly and the testing takes a long time.
