My dog has diarrhea at night. What should I do about his crate?

If it was just one episode and Marceline is otherwise feeling and eating well I would feed her a bland diet of skinless, boneless chicken breast and white rice for a couple of days. If the diarrhea continues I would have her seen by your veterinarian so they can prescribe medication to help clear up the diarrhea. If dogs have an episode of diarrhea with blood it can be colitis from stress but if it is continuing there could be another issue going on such as a parasite.

If there is bloody diarrhea then I would take him to the ER clinic tonight. If it is diarrhea and he is otherwise acting fine still with no vomiting, then you can check on him through the night to make sure nothing is changing and have him checked in the morning. If there is vomiting or lethargy or he does not eat or drink then I would take him tonight also. You can always try boiled chicken and rice to help with digestion also as this is bland and easy to break down and can help with loose stool

Hello, sorry to hear about Rusty. Dietary indiscretions that lead to a decreased appetite, vomiting and even diarrhea may take up to 3-5 days to resolve. You should continue to feed a bland diet consisting or plain white rice, skinless and boneless boiled chicken, and low fat cottage cheese for 5 days to see how his GI tract responds. If the diarrhea continues, then Rusty may need anti-diarrhea medications, probiotics, and to rule out infectious parasites.
