My dog has diarrhea with clumpy blood. When should I see a vet?

When there is blood in the stool I do become a little more concerned. I would recommend a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice, however I would still recommend an examination with a veterinarian tomorrow. That being said if he had a very bloody stool tonight, one that looks like raspberry jam, then he should be seen immediately. If he is developing a problem called HGE they can get very sick very quickly. If he starts vomiting that also increases my concern. I hope he improves quick.

This problem is likely to be related to a colitis (inflammation of the last part of the intestine). It is quite common and usually dietary related. It sounds as Dahlia is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an antibiotic course and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

If Sky has vomiting and diarrhea she needs to see a vet. Unfortunately her symptoms are very vague and could be from any illness or disease process. If Sky is a puppy I would be very worried about parvovirus. If she is an adult my first guess would be hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. Either way, she needs to see a vet.
