My dog has bloody vomit and dark red diarrhea. Is it an emergency?

It seems as Scooby is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious he will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.

I would keep an eye on him, and even offer a bland meal of boiled rice and chicken to see if it helps if his symptoms have only been minor/happened once or twice. If she is pooping blooding, she could be suffering from hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, a foreign body, may have eaten something toxic, suffered trauma to the GI tract, has GI ulcers, or parvovirus if she isn't fully vaccinated. All of these causes are extremely serious and require veterinary treatment now. Please take Xina into a vet right away to diagnose what is causing her bloody diarrhea so she can be treated.

Hello. I am sorry Scout isn't feeling well. It sounds like Scout is very very sick and even though it is a long way from an emergency clinic I recommend you going there. Vomiting blood and having bloody diarrhea can be life-threatening, and can because caused by many issues, including parvo-virus. Without care, and quickly, Scout could get very sick or even die as this can lead to sepsis (severe whole body infection) or severe dehydration. If it is impossible to get Scout to a vet tonight (try calling around to see if a clinic in your area does out of hours care), then try to get Scout to eat or drink anything and get Scout to the vet ASAP in the morning.
