Is it safe to give dog dewormer and Heartgard at the same time?

You can give him Drontal, which kills tapeworms. Heartgard contains ivermectin and pyrantel pamoate, while Drontal contains praziquantel which is needed to kill tapeworms. Do not give them that the same time, but it's fine to give a day or two apart.

Although both are oral heart worm and intestinal parasite preventatives and typically speaking, giving two heart worm preventatives together or within a short amount of time is not recommended, combining these two preventatives together accidentally one week apart should not result in a negative reaction. Yes, you can give tapeworm specific medication alongside heartgard plus. Remember that tapeworms can be transmitted by fleas so you should keep up to date with flea prevention in order to reduce tapeworm burden

Hello. There is no need to separate these two products. There are some heartworm products that should not be given within 2 weeks of some of tick & flea products such as Bravecto & Nexgard, but administering a dewormer will not cause a problem with your flea product.
