How much is dog dental surgery for bad teeth and a heart murmur?

It would be a good idea to have an echo done before putting him under anesthesia for a dental cleaning. Having a heart murmur puts him at a greater risk and your vet just wants to make sure it is safe. The echo can determine if he has heart disease and determine how risky it would be to do the dental cleaning.

As far as the mass on the eye, depending on the location, this would be something that could be removed while under anesthesia for the dental procedure. I am so sorry that your pet has dental disease and a heart condition. Unfortunatley the tartar that causes dental disease is mostly underneath the gumline, hence the name periodontal disease. So most of the tartar that we see on the surface of the tooth is not the main issue here. It is the tartar that is touching the gum and underneath the gum that is the problem. This isn't tartar that you will be able to get off with the pet awake, because it will be uncomfortable for the pet. Also, you have a good chance of causing damage to the gum trying to do this in any awake dog. What you are asking is not possible unfortunatley. However, there are a number of heart dogs that can actually go under anesthesia for a dental cleaning, even with a heart condition. I would suggest taking Chhutki to get an echocardiogram of her heart to determine if she is a good candidate for anesthesia and then go from there. Heart murmurs can occur because of structural changes to the valves or chambers of the heart, which are relatively common in smaller dogs breeds. They can also occur because of anemia (low red blood cell number), infections in the heart, and unfortunately even tumors in heart. You are right in thinking that dogs with heart murmurs are at a higher risk of anesthetic complications, so your veterinarian will need to adjust their anesthetic protocol for any surgical or dental procedures. This depends in part on the dental issues your pet it suffering from but generally involves an anesthetic, full assessment of the teeth and gums followed by removal of all plaque and tartar from the tooth surface.
