Why did my dog die after paralysis, incontinence, and not eating?

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your dog. There are many different problems that could cause those symptoms, so unfortunately an autopsy (called a necropsy in animals) would be the only way to know for sure. Some possible causes would include some type of toxicity (such as antifreeze or rat poison), an illness such as kidney or liver failure, or some type of cancer. Your vet could do a necropsy or direct you to a pathologist for more advanced testing if you want to try and determine a specific cause of death.

I am so sorry for your loss of Lilly!! Losing a pet suddenly is never easy. Without seeing her it is hard to say what happened. She could have had something stuck in her intestinal tract which caused a rupture, or a parasite, or something more serious like cancer. If you need an answer, a necropsy would be the only way to diagnose the cause, but if this was several days ago, this would be hard to tell. I'm sorry I can't give you a better answer. These are very general signs that could have happened due to many different conditions such as ones affecting the heart or it could have possibly been due to internal bleeding. It is hard to know with just a brief description provided but those are some things that can affect a dog suddenly. So sorry to hear this again.

Hello. I am so sorry for your loss. It would be impossible for me to diagnose exactly what took Qra's life, but all the symptoms describe a gastrointestinal problem. This could include anything from a severe parasite problem to a twist or intussusception, blockage, or even a cancer like lymphoma. I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your pet. I am not sure how old she was, but losing a pet no matter how old or young is still hard to cope with. Over time it does get a little easier to cope with this lose and you should always cherish the good moments you had with your pet. As a side, you do have the option of getting any pet a necropsy (examination of the body rigth after they pass) to hopefully determine the cause of death. It is impossible to know for sure what caused her demise based on the symptoms you described but it is possible she may have had a stroke, an underlying heart condition or cancer. It’s hard to know for sure. Toby was an older dog who was down and not able to walk for a while. That, and with the medication for his medical problems, may have effected his organ function. Some dogs stop eating when they don’t feel well, and some just don’t want to continue when they are that compromised and aren’t able to enjoy life like before. He’s at peace now.

I'm really sorry to hear this and for the loss of your dog. Unfortunately, what you are describing is not specific to any one disease, so I cannot tell you exactly what happened. In order to tell for sure, I would have to get more information about his case, examine the body and send samples for testing. However, considering how soon he died, this indicates that he either had severe organ damage, or a severely altered blood chemistry. This can happen in cases of certain infections and in cases of poisoning. There are also many other preexisting conditions like cancer, heart/vascular disease and parasitism that could also cause their to be a sudden decline in health. I know that didn't fully answer your question, but I hope that helps you to understand what may have happened. For more information, you may consider asking the veterinarian that gave the treatment, or ask another vet doctor in your area to review the case.
