Why did my pet die suddenly after peeing herself? What caused it?

Hello. I am so sorry for your loss. You must be heartbroken. There are so many things that could have lead to Fifi's death, including infection, inflammation, organ failure ( kidneys, heart ), heartworm disease, & cancer. It does not sound like she was in any pain or discomfort, so it sounds like she passed quietly. Without a necropsy, an exact cause will never be known, just be glad she did not suffer. Oh no, I'm so sorry that you suddenly lost Minnie Mae Pearl! How horrible for you, please accept my condolences for your loss. Please keep in mind I can't say for certain what caused her to pass away, but I can offer some guess. It is possible that she had cancer. It's common in senior dogs, and it can be festering for a while before the dog sudden becomes ill. They can't tell us when they are sick and are pretty stoic with pain, so oftentimes when we notice something is wrong, it's very late in the disease. That happened with my own dog last year. He seemed perfectly normal, and then one night he appeared to crashed. I rushed him into the clinic for treatment, and he had an abdomen full of fluid likely from a ruptured splenic tumor. He had shown no other signs of illness before then, and unfortunately I had to let him go, so I completely understand how hard it is to suddenly lose a beloved pet and feel devastated. Her death could have also been caused by liver disease, pancreatitis, or a number of other illnesses. I wish I could say for certain to give you some answers, but I can only offer my guesses and my sincerest condolences for your loss :-(

She could have had heart problems, cancer, liver failure, or possibly something toxic you didn't realize Bella got into during the day. Without seeing her in person, I can't say for certain what caused her to pass away, but I do recommend taking her into a vet for a necropsy. I am sorry to hear about Sweetpea's passing, that sounds extremely distressing for you and your family. It is very possible she was injured in the fall and that caused her passing, or there may have been an underlying health issue that caused it as well, however without an exam or necropsy (animal autopsy) it would be impossible to say what caused her passing. I'm sorry to hear about the passing of Penelope. Unfortunately, without an necropsy (autopsy), there is no way to know for sure what happened. A few things that can happen could include a bad heart, an outpouching of a large blood vessel that ruptures internally or an aneurysm. Try to focus on the positive memories you made with her. It's so hard to lose them. My condolences.

I am so sorry for your loss of Lilly!! Losing a pet suddenly is never easy. Without seeing her it is hard to say what happened. She could have had something stuck in her intestinal tract which caused a rupture, or a parasite, or something more serious like cancer. If you need an answer, a necropsy would be the only way to diagnose the cause, but if this was several days ago, this would be hard to tell. I'm sorry I can't give you a better answer. First off, I'm so sorry you recently lost Meg! How horrible for you, please accept my condolences for your loss. Old age isn't a disease, and based on your description of her symptoms, I would say something was definitely wrong that could have ended her life even with treatment. From the picture, it appears she could have petechiae, which are small, pinpoint spots on the skin and mucus membranes. That can be caused by rat poison (something toxic), trauma, heat stroke, infectious diseases, DIC, or bone marrow cancers to name some of them. Without seeing her in person, I can't say for certain, but you could request a necropsy (an autopsy for pets) is done to determine the cause of her again.
