My dog has a dark spot with fur loss and a tummy blister. What is it?

With the description you provided it sounds like Zeus may have a skin infection. A skin infection can be caused by a few different things. Zeus may have allergies. I would recommend bringing him to your veterinarian to have them evaluate Zeus. He most likely will need antibiotics and potentially a shampoo. It looks like Abby has some hyperpigmentation on her belly. This can be caused by any sort of inflammation, usually allergies. The blister looks like a pustule so she may have a mild skin infection. If she has been itchy I would take her to the vet so they can get her on an appropriate medication. You can also try a medicated shampoo to see if that helps as well. Good luck!

There are a variety of causes for this, such as trauma, infection (bacterial or fungal), an immune disease or a type of skin cancer. I would recommend Zeus be evaluated by his regular veterinarian to determine the underlying cause for his skin lesions, and start any treatment (antibiotics, anti-itch medication, anti-inflammatory) that he may need to resolve it. Red blotchy skin is almost always a sign of a dermatitis, which could be caused by bacteria, a fungus or an allergy or a combination thereof. These can be itchy and irritating and cause the dog to lick the area spreading the problem. The location is also typical for a flea allergic dermatitis, so if you have not been doing flea prevention, then now is the time to do so. I see a yellow pustule on the photo which points to a bacterial infection as well which will need to be treated with prescription antibiotics, either topical or systemical. You will need to take Zeus to your vet for an exam, preferably before the weekend.

Zeus could have allergies and a skin infection. You could bathe him with a medicated dog shampoo, like Epi-soothe and see if that helps. Also, inspect him for fleas and use a monthly flea prevention, like Frontline. If his condition continues then he needs to be seen by a vet for treatment. You could try to find a low clinic in your area. He may need an antibiotic anti-histamine, corticosteroid, and/or other medications to treat. Hope he feels better soon!

From the pictures, it could be that Zeus has a rash from a contact allergy, or this could be hives. Try giving him an oatmeal bath tonight to see if that helps with it. If it does not help with this skin problem or it gets worse, I would have him seen by a vet as soon as possible. Those spots on Ben's could be several things including allergies, skin mites, flea bites, ringworm (which humans can get) or a bacterial infection. You can try adding in an omega 3 fatty acid supplement for dogs, this can help improve the skin health. You may also try changing his diet to something like Royal Canin or Nutro as they are aimed at skin health. You can also check or treat for fleas. You can wash the lesions with soap once a day and rinse well (don't wash his whole body, just those spots). Protect the areas from licking or scratching and he may need to wear an Elizabethan collar at all times. If the lesions don't start looking better within about a week or if they get worse, have him examined by the veterinarian who may prescribe medications.
