My dog has a dark spot with fur loss and a tummy blister. What is it?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | unneutered

So my dog Zeus is this cute, chubby little fella that has some occasions of skin problems like a Steph Infection or allergies and whatnot. Ever since his last check up, the bald spots on his hind legs have gone away. But also recently, 2 areas came up that's beginning to worry me. A dark, blackish looking spot where it loses fur and a sort of ... I dunno, maybe blister looking thing on his tummy? The moossee prescribed by the vet doesn't work on either and I'm worried. D:

Both of those spots look like there could be an underlying issue going on, and if Zeus has had previous skin problems before it could be related. If the current medication he is on isn't working, you may want to have your vet take a sample of the areas for testing to find out what they are exactly. Keeping Zeus from licking and chewing at the area with the use of an Elizabethan (cone) collar can also help reduce irritation and secondary infection, helping it clear up faster.
