Why is my 2-year-old dog crying when using his back legs or jumping?

Possible causes of this hind leg pain include hip dysplasia or other congenital hip issues, a partial ACL tear in the knee, arthritis (unusual at such a young age, but still possible), back pain, etc. Some dogs can be quite stoic when we are trying to locate a source of pain! A vet should examine Brownie to determine if there are any palpable areas of discomfort. X-rays may be needed depending on what is identified on exam.
