Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | neutered | 9 years and 2 months old | 100 lbs

Hi i have a 100 lb blue pitt bull his name is blue i believe he got bit by a spider because the skin looks like a crater. . i have been cleaning his wound and his vet is booked until the 1st. He is drinking and eating. Should i keep his wound covered at all times or should i let it get some air. I have been giving the wound a ttriple antibiotic ointment. This is been going on for a week and a half if that .and as it being Sunday no one is open

If your vet can't get Blueberry in sooner, you need to consider going to an emergency vet. I would not allow him to lick the area and it should not be covered. He likely need oral antibiotics and may need it surgically addressed.
