My energetic lab is coughing and throwing up white liquid. What to do?

I recommend taking Kona to a vet right away for an exam so they can listen to his heart and lungs. He may also need xrays of his chest to see what’s going on inside. Other possibilities include infectious diseases like kennel cough or the flu, parasites like heartworms, or cancerous processes. I'm sorry, it looks like your original question about Luna got cut off, as all we were able to see is "Our 5 month old female lab was vomiting." If her current issue is frequent urination and accidents in the house, she may have developed a urinary tract infection, which is unlikely to be related to the vomiting (if the vomiting has since resolved). I recommend that you take her to your vet, as a urine test can be performed. If it is discovered that she does indeed have an infection, antibiotics will be needed to clear it up. Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. Coughing can be a symptom caused by many different things. Heart failure, respiratory infections, collapsing trachea, allergies, etc. Can cause coughing. It best to have a veterinarian examine Aurora to rule out different causes. Poor guy. I would suggest having your vet do baseline bloodwork first to rule out underlying conditions that can cause repeated episodes of vomiting such as pancreatitis, kidney or liver disease first. Then once those are ruled out I would inquire with your vet about giving him Pepto Bismol for a short trial period to see if this helps with his assumed upset stomach issue. I recommend bringing Duke to the veterinarian. There are many viruses and other things that can cause these symptoms. Your veterinarian will be able to determine what is going on with Duke and treat him. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

She may have a cold or kennel cough. They get this from other dogs and it causes a lot of coughing and often some nasal discharge. When dogs cough they also sometimes vomit a small amount as a result so I'm not overly concerned about the vomiting if Rainey is otherwise normal. Keep her quiet to reduce the coughing, and away from other dogs as this can be infectious. She should be better in a few days to a weeek or so. It also could be due to a throat irritation from eating the bark and other items. Same thing though, with time this should resolve on its own. If she should get worse and stops eating or starts more vomiting then it's time for a veterinary exam and treatment. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Cedar is very cute! I think Cedar should be seen by someone today. If he has finally settled down call your Vet first thing and get an appointment. If he is coughing the "vomiting" you are witnessing could be a the end of the cough. Sometimes a dog can cough so hard they trigger their gag reflex and bring up bile or white foam. So if every vomit follows a cough, Cedar may actually be coughing and not vomiting. Causes of coughing are kennel cough, pneumonia, allergies, bronchitis, heart failure. He is 8 months old so I would assume kennel cough is the number one possibility. If he has been boarded lately, around other dogs, at doggy day care or the groomer that will make it more possible. Causes of true vomiting are: dietary indiscretion, foreign body, toxin, viral/bacterial infection, pancreatitis, etc. I wish you the best of luck and a speedy recovery for Cedar!
