My dog is congested. What can I do at home if I can't afford a vet?

My dog sounds congested what can I do at home to help her? I can't afford to take her to a vet can you please help

Poor Bella! At home, you can also try using a humidifier or bringing her into the bathroom with the door closed while you take a hot shower - the steam and humidity help to break up congestion and temporarily relieve symptoms associated with respiratory infections. Unfortunately, respiratory infections do typically require a visit to the vet for medications such as antibiotics, and I would recommend bringing her into one tomorrow. If paying for a vet is an issue, you can see if your vet accepts payment plans, if there is a low cost clinic in your area, or you can apply for Care Credit online. There is also an organization called Red Rover that give grants for treatment of sick animals, and you can see if you qualify for one of their grants.

It sounds like poor Aria is quite sick, and if she isn't reposting to the antibiotics as well as not eating or drinking, she absolutely has to be hospitalized. Her condition is quite serious, and I would be afraid that if she isn't hospitalized, this pneumonia could be fatal. I would see if you can borrow money from family and friends to afford the vet, and I can give you some resources that may help as well. You can see if your vet accepts payment plans, if there is a low cost clinic in your area, or you can apply for Care Credit online. There is also an organization called Red Rover that give grants for treatment of sick animals, and you can see if you qualify for one of their grants. Best Friends also has a list of resources that offer financial assistance on their website.

Poor Dolly! You can try to hold her in a small bathroom while your run a hot shower and let her breathe in the steam. Obviously, don’t put her in the water. And picking her up allows her to get more steaks since steam rises. You can also try some Benadryl. See the link below for more information. Poor Bella! Her nasal congestion could be due to infection, allergies, nasal masses (benign or malignant) or foreign material in the nasal passages. One thing that you can try at home is to take Bella into a steamy bathroom for 10-15 minutes twice daily. However, if the nasal discharge continues or is yellow or green, she should be examined by her vet, as this could indicate infection.
