Is colloidal silver safe with antibiotics for my dog's pneumonia?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Rottweiler | Female | unspayed | 90 lbs

My Rottweiler has pneumonia for 10 days now she started on antibiotics and now switched to another type azithromycin she isn’t eating except if I syringe soup for her I would like to give her colloidal silver. Should I stop the antibiotics or can I give her both?

You should continue antibiotics unless directed otherwise by your veterinarian. Pneumonia can be life threatening and could get much worse if antibiotics are stopped. Colloidal silver can accumulate in organs if given orally and cause heavy metal toxicity. I would not recommend starting colloidal silver without first talking to your veterinarian.
