My dog's coat is dull. What food and products can make it shine?

In general for giant breed dogs, feed according to the bag. Being 7 months, Bear is probably past the biggest of the growth spurts but we probably still don’t want to free feed. However, it the giant breed formulas, it is safer to feed larger quantities while still keeping bone growth at a proper rate. As for the beard, I have a schnauzer so I can relate a little. My best advice is just to wash the beard with a puppy shampoo once a week. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Finally, for the skin. Adding about 2000 mg per day of Fish oil can sometimes help with the skin however, I recommend talking to your vet. If Bear is already this itchy, food or environmental allergies could be to blame. I typically recommend using Free Form Snip Tips help keep the skin and coat healthy. If they are too expensive than you could add one teaspoon of coconut oil to her food and see if that helps. If not, than she should be examined by a vet to determine the cause of her skin and coat problem. She could have a skin infection and need an antibiotic. You could also bathe her with a medicated dog shampoo and see if that helps.

Sharon is such a great looking dog! The best thing you can do for the fur is to ensure he is on a high quality dog food. You can also add in some fish oil and omega-3 fatty acids over the food twice a day. This will help make the coat grow and shiny. Also, brushing him daily will keep it clean. To help the hair coat reach it's potential (you can not change genetics) feed a high quality commercial dog food (no people food), supplement with Omega 3 fish oils, brush the coat daily, deworm regularly if exposed to the outdoors and bath with a moisturizing shampoo as needed. I am not sure if Bee is losing hair, has balding areas or if you are just hoping for something different but you can always post a picture or provide details on what is going on with his coat. Coat length is determined by genetics so you can't change that. At home you can try giving him an omega 3 fatty acid supplement for pets and changing the food. There are two brands of food, Royal Canin and Nutro, which are aimed at skin and coat health. Supplements and diet may help to promote a healthy coat. Additionally, conditions such as skin infections, parasites, allergies and endocrine disease will all cause poor hair coats so it's important to make sure Bollubhai is healthy. You have the right idea. The coat quality of a dog is heavily dependent on the food it eats. That is that a good quality complete dog food for the breed or size of your breed (in your case puppy food) will make it possible for the hair coat to be at its best. However, puppy coats usually look fluffy, not slick and do not have as nice a shine as an adult coat.In an adult hair coat, a black coat will be blacker, the coat will be very shiny, it will feel not dry and also not greasy, there will be no dandruff.
