I accidentally clipped my dog's vulva grooming. Is she okay?

Depending on the severity of the cut you can either treat it at home with a local antiseptic cream or take her to the vet to get it treated, i would need to see a picture in order to tell you if this can be treated at home or not.

My guess is that she got some razor burn around the vulva. Do you have any hydrocortisone cream? If so, I would use that. Just put a thin layer on the vulva (not inside) twice a day. Do not let her lick it off. If she is licking you will need to get her a cone collar to wear. If you don't have any hydrocortisone cream you can get some at any drugstore. I recommend getting 0.5%. These ones that are made for dogs would be best. You can get them at Petco. This looks like a mass adjacent to the vulva, and it is probably not related to the recent grooming. This could be a benign mass like a lipoma or could be something more serious, and I would recommend taking her to your veterinarian to have it examined. They may want to take a small sample using a needle. Another possibility would be a hernia, although this is a little less likely based on your picture, but a veterinarian would probably be able to determine whether or not a hernia is possible based on an exam.

McKenna may have some irritation from the clippers used to groom her. This can be very common, especially when a dog is groomed very short. I would ensure that she is not licking her self excessively as that could make the problem worse. If the redness does not resolve on its own in a few days I would recommend taking her in to see your vet. There she can be checked to make sure there is no infection of her skin around her vagina or other problem going on.

Place an e-collar (cone) on her to prevent licking or chewing. Keep the area clean and dry. This may be enough to allow for healing, but since the skin appears broken, she should be physically examined by your veterinarian. She may need antibiotics which are by prescription only.

Clipper burn is a common problem after grooming, and it should go away on its own in 48 hours. You can use a little Neosporin to soothe and protect the skin, just make sure that Winnie isn't licking at it. However, occasionally nipples get caught in the clippers and get damaged - it's a pretty common problem! If you see that it is red, enlarged, with a creamy discharge, I recommend that Winnie see a vet for evaluation and oral antibiotics.
