Is clear vomit and rumbling stomach in my dog a sign of hunger?

It may not be that Louie is hungry but that the stomach acid has built up overnight. You were doing the right thing by feeding him right before bed. My advice would be to try a different food and see if that helps to decrease the acid production. Try Royal Canin labrador retriever diet. If that does not help you might talk to his veterinarian about starting an anti acid at bed time. Probiotics can sometimes help these guys as well. I recommend Forti Flora. Hello, I am so sorry for your concerns about Louis vomiting. If he is continuing to vomit, or is continuously retching, then yes, he should be seen by his veterinarian. But if he is quiet, then you can rest his stomach for about 12 hours. Then introduce a bland diet of 25% boiled, skinless chicken & 75% boiled white rice. If Louis is hungry, only give him a tablespoon or two every hour or so. Continue this for a day, then transition him back to his regular diet. If he refuses all food, or continues to vomit after eating &/or drinking, please have Louis evaluated. I hope he is feeling better soon. Take care.

You could try withholding food for about 6-8 hours as long as Julie is otherwise healthy and doesn't have any other symptoms. You could then try offering a a small amount of a bland diet like a mixture of 25% plain, boiled boneless chicken breast and 75% plain cooked white rice (as long as Julie doesn't have any food sensitivities). If she continues to vomit you should contact your vet.

Vomiting can be observed with conditions such as gastroenteritis, pancreatitis, dietary indiscretion, gastrointestinal foreign body ingestion and obstruction, among other possibilities. For this reason, I highly recommend that you have Louis evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment as soon as possible as I am afraid he is likely becoming dehydrated. They would be able to check for these possibilities and also check his hydration status and give him medications to make him feel better. Good luck!

Poor girl. Unfortunately my major concern here is that Winnie may have a foreign body. I would highly recommend fasting her for 6hrs and then offer her a small portion of boiled plain chicken or lean ground turkey and white rice and small amounts of non-flavored Pedialyte to keep her hydrated until you can get her seen by your vet. The vet needs to do a complete physical examination and likely will recommend x-rays if a foreign body ingestion is suspected. Best case scenario is that Winnie has a really upset stomach from something she ingested and not a true obstruction. However, the next best thing is to get her seen by your vet as soon as they are open in the morning. I do hope that Winnie feels better soon! Best of luck and take care

Poor Louis! There are many causes for continued vomiting. Certainly parasites like worms and giardia can cause frequent vomiting. Bacterial over growth is also common in younger dogs. Food allergies or intolerance are possible at his age. Lastly a more serious cause can include a partial intestinal obstruction. I recommend to have Louis visit his veterinarian for a physical exam and to rule out some of the more common causes. Treatment will depend on the cause and may include medications or a special diet.
