My dog got into a minor fight with the neighbors dog. Should I clean the wound? If so, can I use mouthwash ?

I am sorry to hear that this has happened to you dog. Probably the best thing to do in this situation is to take you dog to a vet to be examined. Oftentimes with bite wounds, there can be much tissue trauma below the skin and the wounds can actually be worse than they appear. Your vet will be able to examine these wounds and plan a course of action. Some of the wounds may require surgery to close. Tyson will also need some antibiotics to help prevent infection and some pain medication to keep him comfortable. In the meantime, until you can get him to a vet, try to keep Tyson from licking his wounds to prevent further infection.
I hope this helps. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Best of luck.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This may be due to a wound, an infection or growth in that region. Knowing what is exactly affecting Tyson will require an examination by a veterinarian. I recommend that you have Tyson evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to see what the issue seems to be and treat accordingly. In the meantime, you can consider using an e-collar to try to prevent further self-trauma. Good luck and have a great day!
