My dog chewed a sewing kit but seems fine. Does she need a vet?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 15 lbs

My dog chewed up a sewing kit. It doesn't look like she ingested anything. All the pieces are still in tact and the thread isn't unspooled. The needles are all accounted for. I want to take her to the vet but I'm waiting on confirmation of financial assistance because I don't have the money. What should I do? Her current temperment is normal. She's not acting like shes hurting

If Ella chewed on the sewing kit but did not actually ingest any of the material I would not be very concerned. It is possible that she chewed on the material but did not ingest any of it. IF she did ingest a small amount of plastic or material it could pass in her stool. As long as she is eating and drinking normally I would monitor her stool for any passing of material. At any time if she is not eating, painful, vomiting or having no defection I would be concerned about a possible blockage and recommend taking her to the vet for an abdominal x-ray. I hope that helps
