What are these bumps on my dog's back? Are they serious or benign?

From the pictures that you have provided the skin masses that you have noticed look very similar to a benign skin tumor known as a sebaceous adenoma. I call these old dog warts when using layman's terms. These are typically benign tumors of the skin which occur with older aged animals. If you are at all concerned about these then I would suggest having your veterinarian examine them and make a determination on what exactly they are. Hi there and thank you for using Pet Coach! From the pictures you provided, I would suspect these to be what we call sebaceous adenomas. These are benign masses of the skin / glands of the skin that typically occur in older animals. We sometimes call these "old dog warts" and they are nothing to be concerned about. Unless they are bleeding, bothering the dog or infected, we just monitor them for any changes and remove them if any of the above occur. If Tess is due for a dental cleaning, you can always have these removed at the same time if needed. Otherwise, you can just monitor these for now. I agree that the first picture appears to be a skin tag and the second picture looks like it could be a cyst or perhaps a Sebaceous adenoma. I am not too concerned about these masses, but obviously an examination is far better than an evaluation of a picture. These do appear to be possible benign sebaceous cyst type tumors, which are typically non-cancerous. However, I would suggest getting One tested by your vet just to be sure that these are nothing to worry about. I hope everything works out well for your pet Monty. This is a benign skin mass that we typically start to see develop in middle aged to older dogs. They do not cause any harm but can become sore and open from time to time. If these masses become infected or are painful I then recommend having them removed, otherwise, monitoring them is absolutely fine to do. I hope this helps! Hello, thank you for using PetCoach. Chances are that this is a sebaceous cyst. Sebaceous cysts are usually harmless, sack-like growths with a lining that is not cancerous. In dogs, most cysts develop from hair follicles. These cysts typically appear as single, clearly defined, firm or soft lumps located in the skin or just beneath it. They are often between 0.5 to 5 centimetres in size and may sometimes have a bluish colour. A cyst can release a thick, gray-to-yellow-brown cheesy substance if it bursts. Other terms for sebaceous cysts in dogs include infundibular or follicular cysts. The lump needs to have a fine needle aspirate (FNA)/cytology to be sure of that diagnosis. Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. From your description and the picture you attached, it looks like a small benign growth on the skin. Kim's is a young dog so most likely this is a histiocytoma. However, I would err on the side of caution and have your vet conform whether it is benign or malignant. Your vet can insert a small needle into the mass and look at the cells under the microscope to get a better idea of what the mass is. I hope this helps!
