Why is my pug breathing hard, lethargic, crying, and having seizures?

Unfortunately pugs are extremely brachycephalic dogs and it is not rare that they cannot breathe properly and fall unconscious due to lack of oxygen. You will need to take your dog to a veterinarian for assessment and an exam. The extremely flat face and nose causes two problems: the opening of the nose is often obstructed and can be surgically enlarged to help with breathing. Also the soft palate is often way to big as there is no snout, and often obstructs the larynx, cutting off the air flow. This can be surgically adjusted. Both these conditions can also cause heart failure. Please take your dog to a veterinarian or veterinary surgeon for an exam soon.

I highly recommend that you have Mamas evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible for further assessment and treatment. Diagnostics that will be recommended will include bloodwork and advanced imaging such as an MRI. I'd be concerned this could be related to heart disease or a respiratory problem like a collapsing trachea. This is not normal at all, you need to have Pugsley seen by a vet in the morning. Keep him calm.

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that Cookis is so sick! The difficulty breathing and vomiting in a young puppy is very concerning to me. You need to take Cookis back to your veterinarian as it sounds like X-rays need to be done. She may have developed pneumonia or have a blockage in her gastrointestinal tract. It is very important to have Cookis seen by a veterinarian as I'm concerned it sounds like she is very ill. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do at home to help at this point without knowing what exactly is causing these issues. That is very interesting. Thanks for using pet coach. It is possible when she is anxious and very excited she is having a small seizures, having decreased cardiac function or even a breathing issue like collapsing trachea. With a pug they are more prone to breathing issues due to there elongated soft palpate and small airways. I would recommend trying to video tape the episode and showing it to your vet for a better assessment. With Ruby being young I would recommend having some basic blood work done to make sure there is not issues with liver function too. I think consulting a vet would be best after an episode. These symptoms are vague and not specific for any one illness or disease process but I would be very concerned about them in a dog this age and breed. I suggest you get Chimi to the vet for an exam as soon as possible.

I hate to hear that Peyton had some sort of an episode. Certainly urinating on himself is suspicious of a seizure type activity, although other neurological abnormalities could cause similar signs. I recommend to have him seen by his veterinarian today if possible. The doctor will check his neurological reflexes to try to determine the cause. If it was a seizure, this can be caused by epilepsy, electrolyte imbalance, liver disease or cancer. The doctor will likely recommend blood work and may have further recommendations pending lab results and physical exam. I hope your boy does well!
