My dog has a brain tumor. What are the treatment options available?

I'm sorry Cody had a seizure and he possibly has a brain tumor. If he does have one, it is likely he may have more seizures, so I would discuss with your vet putting him on an anti seizure medication. There are drugs that can be used such as steroids to help reduce swelling in the brain or chemotherapy and radiation, but this depends on how much money you want to spend to treat him. Euthanasia is another option depending on the severity of his symptoms. To confirm he has a brain tumor, you can speak to his vet about having a CT or MRI done as well as x-rays to see if there is any cancer spread to places like his lungs. Small tumors can be removed surgically and then undergo chemotherapy or radiation therapy depending on the type of tumor and if clean margins were made during surgery. If this is not an option for Hundoll, then he would be considered for hospice-type care. I would recommend that you have have him evaluated by a vet for pain. You can feed him whatever he wants at this point. Acupuncture may help with some of the pain, but it won't be able to stop the growth of the tumor. You may be able to find a vet in your area that uses herbal remedies, but they need to be prescribed after careful examination of the dog.

She has most likely been diagnosed with osteosarcoma (in the forelimb probably head of the humerus) which is a primary bond tumor.
