My dog has a brain tumor. Are new breathing and eye discharge related?

Left nasal cavity seems full of discharge and bone seems affected as well (so whatever is inside is causing bone erosion as well). It is not possible to determine what it is specifically from the CT images and a further investigation is unfortunately needed. Was rhinoscopy performed? was a biopsy taken? Otherwise aggressive treatment for fungal infection is required (not only oral treatment but often ''flush'' of the nasal cavity is necessary to have substantial results. Breathing irregularly is a concern in a senior dog like Talula, it could be due to heart disease, a respiratory infection, or something more serious like cancer. The eye discharge can be due to an eye infection. I'd have her seen by a vet today for these issues to make sure she is ok.

Poor Yogi! It’s hard to know if this is related to the tumor or a problem by itself. Since you saw the blood in the phlegm, I recommend to have him examined by his veterinarian. Even if this is related to the tumor there are medications that can control inflammation and keep him more comfortable. One thing you can do at home that may help us start him on an omega-3 fatty acid supplement for dogs. This will act as a natural anti-inflammatory and improve the lining of the respiratory tract. Certainly a brain tumor is one of the greatest likelihoods of seizures in an older dog. There is a chance that Ava's nose bleeds could be related to a cancerous mass or bleeding disorder related to her seizures. That said, her nose bleeds could also indicate a nasal growth, foreign material in the nasal cavities or infection. Without being able to examine Ava, it is difficult to determine if there are any treatments available aside from hospice care alone. Consider taking Ava to her vet for an exam to determine if there are any other treatment options available to maintain a good quality of life.

Judging from the pictures, I would be suspicious that this is an abscess / infection or a nasal / sinus tumor. If this is a tumor, it may have developed a secondary infection, which is why it likely responded to the previous treatment. Unfortunately I do not have an answer for you on what this is other than it would need further testing such as rhinoscopy or CT scan to help determine what this could be. If you are unable to do further testing, I would consider continuing the antibiotics / steroids long term to help keep Luna comfortable. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. Meloxidyl (meloxicam) is a NSAID and should not be used in conjunction with prednisone or any other steroid. There should be at least a 3-4 day wash out period between use. Ideally, you should wait at least a full week. That could be nasal or oral discharge. It could also be the tumor spreading. You can definitely try a warm compress to soften and clean up dried discharge. If it doesn't come off, then it could be tumor. You would need to have him physically examined by your veterinarian to diagnose it. If Willy is very painful, have him seen at the nearest veterinary ER. The doctors can dispense or administer different medications for pain, such as buprenorphine (Buprenex), that can be used in conjunction with Pred.

The brain tumor may have spread to his other organs causing him to have multiple problems. Unfortunately, it sounds like his quality of life is not very good at this point. You could have your vet run some lab work and possibly take x-rays of his abdomen to see if anything can be done to help him and make him more comfortable but, if not, than you may need to consider euthanasia, especially if he seems to be suffering. So sorry that Peppe is having all these problems.
