Pet's info: Dog | Jack Russell Terrier | Female | spayed | 11 lbs
My rescued Jack Russell gets diarrhea regularly every 6 to 8 weeks, with blood in the stool. In between she is perfectly fine....no diet changes etc. But this happens with regularity and lasts one to two days, with no appetite on those days. Possible causes?

If this signs are intermittent and persistent, a gastrointestinal infection or inflammation due to food intolerance is possible. A check up, bland diet trial (hypoallergenic or exclusion) and some antibiotics may be indicated to confirm one of these clinical suspicions and solve the problem. Fecal analysis may be necessary as well.

I cannot tell from the picture if there is blood in the diarrhea. Blood will either be red/pink or even dark brown/black. This diarrhea looks yellow. However, if Lucy is still having diarrhea after not eating for 24 hours, you should take her to see your veterinarian right away as there could be something more serious going on.
