My dog had blood in his diarrhea on Saturday, from then on I've been feeding him bland chicken and rice planning to take him to the vet on Monday. Now it is Monday and he does not have diarrhea anymore. He has been pooping regularly and does not have any blood in his poop. Should I still take him to the vet?

Hello. If the diarrhea is improving & Babe is eating, drinking & acting well, then you can see how things go. If the diarrhea should suddenly worsen, or Babe acts ill in any way, do take him in to see your vet as soon as possible. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

If it was a one time thing you can just monitor him for now, if it happens again i would definitely recommend taking Janko to the vet in order to get it checked, he will probably need an antibiotic course to resolve the problem.
