My shih tzu has blood in his urine and belly spots. Is it urgent?

Hello. This could be a result of a serious bladder infection, prostatitis, urinary bladder stones, a bleeding polyp/mass or trauma. This definitely warrants a trip to your veterinarian ASAP. It's likely Kristoff is suffering from a prostate disease (infection or cancer), it is very common in unneutered dogs, you need to take him to the vet ASAP in order to get it checked and treated, if it is indeed the prostate he will need to get neutered urgently.

IF she is painful and restless and straining to go, then I would. If she is resting and able to urinate then it is not a true emergency but may be uncomfortable for her. As long as she is urinating, then you can try to wait for your regular vet and monitor her for any changes

This behavior can actually be a sign of a UTI or bladder stones. I'd have Monty seen by a vet for this for blood work and a urinalysis. Using these tests, the vet can diagnose if he has one of the things I mentioned above, and can treat him. I'd take him into a vet today. I hope this helps!

Oh my. These symptoms are alarming and very concerning. Jojo could either have a serious cystitis (inflamed bladder), raging UTI, or even a bleeding disorder is possible here. Please take her to your local vet asap for an exam, urinalysis and immediate treatment based on her lab findings. I would recommend taking her to the ER vet if at all possible, so that she can get treated quickly before this gets any worse.

If she appears otherwise healthy and happy, eats and drinks plenty, you can wait until Monday morning. If she appears lethargic, ill or distressed, or if the urine appears very bloody, then she should be seen by a vet ASAP. Feed her wet/canned food, add water to it, and make sure she drinks a lot of water to help flush the bladder.

An examination is needed to determine the underlying cause and start treatment. Testing the urine and an x-ray may be recommended to find the cause of the blood in the urine. If Pursi becomes lethargic, starts vomiting, or is unable to urinate then this would be considered a medical emergency and urgent care should be sought.
