My dog has a bleeding gum blister. Is it serious? What should I do?

It sounds like Fluffy could have a cyst. I would have him seen by a vet for this. If it is a cyst, it will need to be drained sterilely, and the vet may need to remove it surgically to prevent it from recurring. I would have him seen by a vet in the next few days for this.

The area should be treated as if it were an open wound that is infected, and thus, she should be receiving antibiotics orally. The only way to obtain these will be with a veterinary examination and a prescription. If this is not possible, the best thing you can do is shave the hair that is surrounding the lesion, scrub the area with dilute betadine or chlorhexidine, and keep it as clean as possible. You can also apply something topically to the lesion such as triple antibiotic, though his may or may not be effective. Do not bandage or cover the area, as this will only serve to trap bacteria into the area. Hope this helps.

They can take a sample of the affected tissue to look for the cause behind it, and provide treatment options such as removal, antibiotics, medicate shampoos, and more. Until you can get to your vet, it's best to keep the area clean and dry and to keep Bossy from licking at it with an Elizabethan (cone) collar. This can help reduce irritation.

Hi. Unfortunately this looks like more then a cyst. This could be a cancerous tumor that has become irritated and ulcerated. Based on this photo , it appears it should be removed and biopsied. If it isn't a cancerous tumor and is largely a cyst of some kind, it would still be best to remove it because of how irritated it is. It will eventually bother Adel a lot as well

This may be a pimple (little abscess), cyst or a tumor. You should have it examined by your veterinarian as tumors should be removed ASAP. An abscess can usually be treated with antibiotics and/or be lanced, and a cyst can be evacuated. Your vet may want to do a fine needle aspirate (he takes some material from the bump with a needle and then looks at it under the microscope) to determine whether the mass is concerning. Since this is obviously bothering your dog (it looks like Bentley is licking it), I would have this examined very soon.

Hello, it does not look like anything overall concerning at this time. Some dogs may develop cyst on their lips which may resolve on their own. Keep a close eye on it, and if you see it get larger, become firm, or develop any discharge, then you should indeed have him seen.
