Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Female | spayed | 9 years and 1 month old
My dog has a black semi raised circle on her lower back. Never had a sore/cut/bite in that area, the thing just appeared. I check her constantly for fleas as she had them in Sept. no discomfort/scratching in that area. it feels like a scab but I don’t know where she would have gotten it from. Just went to vet yesterday due to an ear infection and got medicine. Should I be worried? Acts fine. Was biting her back for like 2 seconds only once last week could that be it? Gave revolution on Friday.

It can be hard to tell without a complete examination and diagnostics. I would recommend that you have Tipou examined by a vet. Based on the physical appearance and relevant medical history, the vet may recommend just monitoring it, a fine needle aspirate for examination under a microscope, or a biopsy to be sent off to a lab.

It looks like it could be an insect bite, possibly an allergic reaction or a minor infection, i would probably recommend monitoring it for now, no need to rush to the vet as long as it doesn't get worse than this and no need to apply any treatment for now either, it will hopefully resolve on it's own within 1-2 weeks.
