What's this black crusty draining spot on my senior shih tzu's leg?

I would worry that is a precious bite wound from a spider or something or a tumor or cyst that is infected and has a necrotic center. Try to stop in from licking it and clean it with soap and water to rinse the pus off. You can place neosporin to help prevent bacteria and dirt from getting inside. This will buy you time to get to your vet for further testing to see if surgery is needed or just antibiotics

It could be a cyst, mass, or pustule. Have your vet take a look at it to determine the best way to treat. She may need an antibiotic to treat an infection and/or it may need to be removed. Your vet can do an aspirate to help diagnose.

This could be a sebaceous cyst that ruptured and is now secondarily infected or has an open wound on it that won't heal. I would recommend having a veterinarian take a look at this and have some additional testing performed on it to determine what it could be. With more information on what this could be, the most appropriate treatment can then be started. If you are unable to get to your vet right now, I would recommend using an ointment called zymox topical ointment to apply to the area. This presentation could be due to a trauma or localized spot of skin infection (likely to be caused by bacteria).
