My dog is biting her paws. Could it be dental pain? Vet bills high?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | spayed | 7 years and 4 months old | 9.6 lbs

PLEASE HELP! My dog has been biting her paws and I think it’s a sign of her teeth and gums being in pain. The vet bill is too expensive to fix her teeth but I’m so worried for her. Can I help her in anyway? Will she be ok?

Hi. They can paw at their face or kick alot if mouth is painful, or from allergies. In this case it could be either or both. There isn't anything unfortunately you can do about the teeth other then the cleaning with a veterinarian. You can speak to your veterinarian about a round of pain medications and antibiotics in meantime, but those are temporary. You can look in to care credit for payment plans allowing interest free financing for 6-12 months by going to care credit.com
